The Marblehead T50's concept is based on the more traditional T50 Racing Sloop and T50 Carbon Fiber Racing Sloop. Back in the early days of AMYA the Soling 50 was grouped with the Marblehead (50/800) class. As the Marblehead evolved into the boat it is today, the Soling was actually "outclassed". As the number of Soling 50's increased, a one design class was formed for the boat and it was removed from the Marblehead 50/800 class.
